Foeder-aged Kölsch

This unfiltered Kölsch is simple in grain design with only Pilsner malt and wheat for a light flavor and body. We hopped it with just enough German Spalt hops for balance to make it crispy and sessionable. Then after a cold conditioning period we aged it in a freshly toasted American oak foeder for 4 months. The oak character comes through quite strong notes of coconut, vanilla, marshmallows and a toasted oak spiciness that only a freshly toasted foeder can give.
