Thanksgiving Favorites from the Team

Tis the season for giving thanks & eating delicious food!

We have a lot to be thankful for this year (like beer, for instance), but we’re especially thankful for YOU! Yes, you…the one reading this blog. Thanks for loving us, visiting us and enjoying our beer.

The Public House will be closed Thursday for the holiday so go spend some quality time with friends and family. And if you’re not sure what to bring to Thanksgiving dinner, keep reading for some favorites and inspiration from the team!

Here’s what we asked…
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?
And what’s your favorite Angel City beer to pair with it?
Here’s what they said…

MIKE – Assistant Manager
Gravy, because it goes on everything.Vanilla Porter – I like stouts- chocolate, coffee and big flavors.

RENEE – Administrative Operations Manager/ Soul Crusher
Mom’s Stuffing. She makes hers with Matza Farfle
Belligerent Bloke – for the Holiday spice.

LAYTON – Brewer
Mashed potatoes, because they are starchy and filling and you get to put gravy on them.
Baltic Porter – It’s a nice heavy winter warmer.

MICHAEL – Guard
Twice baked potatoes, because I’m a big potato fan.
Angel City IPA – Because it’s my favorite!

KRIZZIA – Barback/Fairy Princess
Mashed potatoes and gravy because it feels like home
Angel City IPA – Because even if they don’t necessarily pair well together, I still get to enjoy my two favorite things at the same time!

LOGAN – Brewing Intern
Super dry turkey because then I get to make fun of the host.
Our old dry-hopped Saison – Because I like dry things.

TYLER – Brewer
Stuffing, to stuff my face with…
Jameson Barrel Aged Irish Red – It makes it easier to deal with the relatives.

TODD – Bartender
My homemade pecan pie. I love the traditional Karo syrup version. I do a combination of recipes from the Pioneer Woman and Joy the Baker.
Our old California Common – The light malt will not overwhelm the sweet and nutty flavors of the pie.

EDWIN – Bartender & Art Gallery Curator
Pumpkin Pie. You typically can only get it once a year and it makes me feel excited that we get to start a new year soon.

LUPE – Retail Associate & Tour Guide
Stuffing. I will only eat my mom’s. She adds bacon to the mix and it’s just wonderful.
LAger – I just love that beer with everything.

Now that your mouth is watering, go grab some beer and have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

FYI! We will be open 2p-midnight on Thanksgiving Eve (11/25), CLOSED on Thanksgiving (11/26) and open at 4:00am for door-busting, Black Friday beers! (no not really…we’ll be open at noon on Friday)
