Using barrel tops as their canvas, six local artists will be featured in the Over a Barrel art exhibit, with their barrel art and other work on display. Featured artists include Andre Miripolsky, Scott Forrest, Jaime Colindres, A.S. Ashley, Emmeric Konrad, and J.W. Pippen.
We’ll be kicking off the exhibit with an opening on July 20th. During the event artists will be auctioning off their barrel art to support Free Arts. We’ll also have Taqueria el Severo cooking up street tacos, and live music from Fiz. We’ll be giving a percentage of all beer sales from the event to Free Arts.
Free Arts’ programs inspire hope in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, homelessness, and chronic poverty through innovative creative arts programs and positive interactions with caring adult volunteers. Free Arts has brought the healing power of art to more than half a million of Los Angeles’ children since its inception in Malibu in 1977. With more than 35,000 children receiving child welfare services at any given time in LA County alone, Free Arts strives to reach more children every year, eager to spark their creative spirit, inspiring and transforming their lives through the power of artistic expression.
