Attention ale adoring Angelenos – LA Beer Week is BACK! The beer-filled week featuring festivals, tap takeovers, tastings and copious amounts of new beer has returned for its ninth year June 17^th – 25^th. We’ll be celebrating by debuting two new beers at events at the brewery and throughout the city. Check ’em out!

Sunbather

Sunbather is a Sour Ale that first made its debut on the Public House taps late last summer. We (and you) loved it so much that we decided to do a limited run of cans for LA Beer Week as part of a new single-hop series!

So What Is it?

Sunbather is a soured pale ale, dry hopped with a different single hop variety in each batch. This version is brewed with Citra hops and the end result is refreshingly tart and juicy. It’s the perfect thing to enjoy while soaking up that California sun.

Appearance: Slight haze with a golden yellow hue

Aroma: Citrus, Lemon

Tasting Notes: Sour/tart, bright citrus notes, crisp finish

Malt: 2-Row, wheat

Hops: Citra

ABV: 4.2%

IBU: 16

Purple Grain

Remember the simpler times of 2016 when we asked you to share your dream beer ideas for a chance to bring it to life at our brewery? Well that winning idea is finally ready. Come try Purple Grain at the release party on June 20th.

So What Is it?

Purple Grain is an American Wheat beer base that uses a small portion of Purple Prairie barley to stay true to the name, with some elderberry juice to provide the color and a hint of jam flavor. Large amounts of late addition and dry hops lend a pleasant floral and tropical fruit aroma that make for a fun, quirky beer. So “Let me guide you to our purple GRAIN!”

Appearance: Slightly hazy with a reddish-violet color

Aroma: Melon, floral, slightly earthy with hints of ripe citrus

Tasting Notes: Tropical fruit, citrus with a balanced bitterness and a touch of jam flavor.

Malt: 2-row, Wheat, Purple prairie barley, Carafa

Hops: Mosaic, Motueka, Amarillo, Citra

ABV: 5.5%

IBU: 30
